The Grace St. Paul's Choir is a ministry dedicated to enlivening the liturgy through music. Music is a powerful gift of the Holy Spirit to inspire and console the people of God. Choir members, adults and children, dedicate themselves to being present to the parish in the worship service, leading congregational singing and providing anthems linked to the lectionary and other important liturgical considerations throughout the seasons of the church year.

In addition to this solemn purpose, which members hold in their hearts and minds through prayer, choir participation is also an opportunity for lighthearted fellowship and a sense of community. No audition is necessary but good musical skills are always welcome, given the amount of music the choir performs each year.

The adult choir is not the only way for your family to participate in music at Grace St. Paul's. We also have the St. Cecelia's Choir, directed by Joan Brundage and Jane Click under the auspices of the Sunday School program, for children old enough to read and up.

Adult Choir Rehearsals
Thursdays from 7:30 to 9 p.m. (7 to 9 p.m. in Advent and Lent)
Sundays from 9:15 a.m. to prepare for the 10 a.m. service

St. Cecelia's Choir Rehearsals
The St. Cecelia's Choir rehearsals begin after the 10 a.m. Sunday service and end at noon.

Music Selection

The choir provides two anthems and a sung psalm for the 10 a.m. service weekly and for other services as needed to enrich the musical life of the parish. During Holy Week, forget you have a life. We sing everything from contemporary gospel and Taizé to high Anglican Tudor, as long as it is well written and suited to the needs of a 30-voice choir, and we employ instrumentalists for occasional services. Children's music is selected for the appropriate age level to enhance their development and to encourage the participation of children in the full life of the parish.
